Women have gathered in circles since the beginning of civilization. We don’t know exactly what they talked about, but cave art, paintings and other relics show women sitting in a circle as a main focus of tribal community. Most likely they discussed their daily life, relationships, and dreams. Not so different from us in our modern world! The words belonging and bridging were not yet known, psychologists tens of thousands of years in the future had not yet coined the phrase community building, and yet women across the ages have gathered in a circle to be together, to celebrate, to listen and support each other. So here we are today, stepping into the ancient circle, still gathering, still wanting to listen, to be heard, to understand and support each other as we face the challenges of our lives and world. Know that you are welcome here, step into our circle, sit down and breathe in the feeling of being safe, heard and held into our community.
